On Friday and Summit SuperSeries Event On Sunday
Friday, July 11, 2008
Participants and spectators at tonight's running of the monthly Dragway 42 "All-Out" program presented by Akron
Horsepower gets will get a double dose of the action as TWO groups will be selected for competition.
All passes down the track from 6 PM to 8:30 PM tonight will be qualifying runs for the "All-Out" eliminations.
At 8:30 Dragway 42 officials will select the closest 8 vehicles based on elapsed time to run heads-up for a
winner-takes-all prize of $200 cash.
As a bonus, at tonight's event the next 8 closest grouped vehicles will run off in a separate eliminations with that
winner taking home a 5 foot tall trophy!
The Dragway 42 "All-Out" program is a free, added bonus to the regularly scheduled Friday street race, grudge race, and
test & tune program.
In addition to all of the other activities tonight, the Big 3 Racing "Gambler Race" will also be run. That race features
a 100% payback of the entry fees and will be the first night with the new, lower, $10 gambler race entry fee.
Gates open Friday at 5:30 PM with on-track activities beginning at 6 PM.
Big 3 Gambler eliminations are scheduled to begin at approximately 8:30 PM with eliminations in the Dragway 42 "All Out"

On Sunday, Dragway 42 will host another Summit SuperSeries event featuring 7 different classes of competition, all
racing for guaranteed purses of up to $2,000.
With the rainout during Junior Dragster eliminations on Sunday, June 22, this will be the 3rd of 10 scheduled point
races for the big car and motorcycle racers and race 4 of 11 for the Juniors.
Summit SuperSeries point racers are reminded that due to all of the early season rainouts, Sunday, August 17 has been
added to the schedule as a points race. That date was originally listed as a single day, Ohio Bracket Series event.
Sunday's competition is open to all participants and the full purse is paid whether a racer is a member of the points
program or not.
Racing will be held in Dragway 42 "Top", Wind-It-Tight Engines "Mod", Akron Horsepower "Street", Vanson Leathers "Pro
Bike", Pat Catan's Craft Centers "Junior Fuel", World Cup Coffee "Junior Super Stock", and World Cup Coffee "Junior
Stock".
Gates open at 9:30 AM with Junior Dragster time trials beginning at 10. Big car and motorcycle time trials begin at 11
AM with their eliminations at 2:30 PM.
Race entry fees range from $20 to $50 depending on class while adult general admission is $10.
Addition Of Another Summit SuperSeries Points Event
Tops Revisions To The Upcoming Dragway 42 Schedule
Sunday, July 6, 2008
Mother Nature has certainly played havoc with this spring's and early summer's racing schedule and no where has that
been more obvious than when it comes to Dragway 42's IHRA Summit SuperSeries schedule.
The end of June has typically represented the halfway point of the Dragway 42 track points season, but with all of the wet
weather this year only 3 Summit SuperSeries events have been run to a conclusion as we approach the upcoming Sunday, July 13
race.
"The points program is very important to our racers who chase the track championships, IHRA Summit SuperSeries championships,
and the opportunity to be a part of our 'Team 42' group of racers who will represent themselves and Dragway 42 at the IHRA
Division 3 Bracket Team Finals," stated track owner Toby Ehrmantraut.
"As we announced at the banquet in January, racers have told us that they don't want to have a points event every week and
we responded with a 2008 schedule that featured 13 point races and only one month with more than 2 point races. That allowed us
to schedule other special events on those non-point race Sundays, but it also left us with few options when it comes to trying
to make up for the multiple point Sunday rainouts," he continued.
To accomodate a replacement points race Sunday, the one day Ohio Bracket Series event originally scheduled for Sunday, August 17
has been cancelled and an additional Summit SuperSeries event is being added on that date.
With the added points race, the remaining 2008 Dragway 42 Summit SuperSeries schedule is now:
Sunday, July 13 • Sunday, July 27
Sunday, August 10 • Sunday, August 17 • Sunday, August 24
Sunday, September 7 • Sunday, September 14
Only 30% of the season's point races have been run, so it is certainly not too late to join the 2008 points program and
still accumulate enough points to be a part of the expanded Dragway 42 Bracket Finals team.
Don't forget, for 2008 the team size has been increased to a total 45 racers including 43 participants and 2 alternates.
The other schedule changes that were announced today involve the expanded opportunity for group and organization track
rentals on Saturdays, as a total of five Saturday evening, Box/No Box combo events (2 in July, 1 in August, and 2 in
September) have been dropped from the remaining 2008 schedule.
The dates that have now been made available for club or group track rentals are Saturdays, July 12 and 26; August 23;
and September 6 and 13.
No changes are being made to the Summit SuperSeries point events, Ohio Bracket Series, Ohio State Championship, holiday
weekend, Tuesday, or Friday events on the remaining 2008 schedule.
"We recognize that racer's budgets are limited, especially in tough economic times. It makes more sense for everyone
involved to concentrate our upcoming schedule on Sunday and weekend events that offer our racers guaranteed purses
while still continuing to also provide our existing Tuesday and Friday program with its test and tune opportunities,"
said Dragway 42's Jack Ehrmantraut.
"We appreciate the support of all of our racers and hope the addition of the Summit SuperSeries point race on August 17
and the changes to the Saturday combo schedule will help everyone," concluded Jack and Toby Ehrmantraut.
